KPD-OISCA Youth Training Center, Tenom

This Training Center is organized by the OISCA International Headquarters and is supported by KPD. The Center is lead by Jimil. Bin. Jainol, an officer of KPD, and its instructors are former OISCA ex-trainees. The training uses traditional OISCA methods by providing technical and management guidance.

The Center has a Food Processing Unit, which was created by OISCA with grant assistance from Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). The Food Processing Training Unit supports the Center by selling processed food at the local markets.

The training at Tenom includes; human development, production of rice, vegetable, fruit and coffee, poultry raising, fishery, compost making, sitology, farm machine repairing, marketing, food processing, mathematics, and sewing. The trainees also learn about the environment and participate in tree planting. Many visitors, especially young people come to visit the Center due to mild weather, no natural calamities and pleasant social conditions.
